Dear Animal Lover,
Did you know the same people often hurt animals over and over again? Not once. Not by accident. But repeatedly, again and again.
Many people who hurt animals have prior criminal histories.

They look trustworthy.
They smile, say the right things, and seem like good people.
So a shelter trusts them and places a dog or cat into their care, believing that the animal will finally be safe.

But they are not always safe.
Because there is no consistent way to know who someone really is.
As a result, some animals are placed right back into the hands of abusers.

Many offenders go on to harm multiple animals over time, allowing the cycle to continue unless something stops it.

So how do we stop this?
How do we prevent abusers from adopting again and hurting another animal?

The Animal Abuse Registry, developed by North Shore Animal League, helps shelters identify individuals with documented histories of abuse.

We are currently adding 3,000 abuser names to the registry. We need to raise $20,000 to continue adding our abusers and promote this to as many of the 20,000-30,000 shelters as possible to stop more abusers.
But we need your donations to do this.
As little as $2.00 helps us keep this going
Your donation is tax-deductible and 100% goes toward stopping repeat abusers.
