UPDATE 1/15/2025:

Help Save Animals From Apocalyptic California Fires

Updates

4 month old kitten found wandering and treated by Pasadena Humane Society.

Please help if you can.

Most of the catastrophic wildfires burning are partially contained with Palisades only contained 22%. 40,695 acres burned near San Fernando, Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Santa Monica. Approximately 12,300 structures burned.

Hundreds of animal welfare organizations in Southern California will continue to need help. Using connections through Animal Victory’s rescue network, critical assistance is being provided where it is needed the most. We are partnering with dedicated boots-on-the-ground organizations that are working tirelessly to help animals in need across fire-impacted areas.

Of course time is of the essence to get needed supplies and funds for the organizations rescuing the animals displaced by the fires.

For the past week, we have been working with organizations searching for animals, providing hay for farm animals, airline transporters of animals, and providing foster homes for cats.

Our dedicated friends in Menifee, California, are working tirelessly around the clock, conducting search and rescue missions when it’s safe, as well as carrying out preventative evacuations for animals in need. This includes farm animals, horses, domestics, and exotics. Thanks to their amazing team, over 300 animals have already been saved, and they continue to check more addresses every hour.

Meet Hollywood the miracle cat.

Our friends at Viva Rescue got a call about a cat that the family couldn’t reach, right in the middle of the path of fire. They sent two volunteers up throughout the day, but even on a fire road, they were unable to safely make it through. On January 10, around midnight, they decided to make the trip themselves. They were able to get past fire lines no one else could get through, thanks to assistance from PD and FD. Hollywood was one of the cats they saved. Blocks and blocks were reduced to ash, but her house was untouched by flames. It was a true miracle. They cried when they found her alive. She had not eaten or drunk water in three days. There was thick smoke in the air, and she was immediately taken for triage. She is okay, has some smoke inhalation but should recover well. Her family is evacuated where they can’t have animals, so another team took her back to the sanctuary where she’ll recover and stay until she’s ready to go home.
