Thomas Houtman was a spoonmaker, specializing in cutlery. He lived and worked in Weesp. The spoon is hallmarked with the first standard mark, Amsterdam city mark, year letter H for 1767, and the maker's mark TH. The spoon is decorated with Amsterdam lobed ornamentation.
